Technical Support

The Center, in its capacity as a service unit provides technical support to existing online services that are developed and maintained by the Center. These services include the Student Portal, UP Webmail, UVLE, and DocuTrak. Through its DILNET support arm, the staff provides services to network-related problems within the Diliman Network.

Rentals of Computing Facilities

The Center maintains 2 Linux Microcomputer Rooms which provide services such as Internet access, word processing, use of speadsheet and other applications. The rooms are available for seminars and lectures at a minimal price. Equipment such as an LCD projector and eMACs are also available. The center offers free wireless access for students and faculty who want to access the internet using their own laptop. Public E-terminals are also available at the Center's lobby for students accessing the UP Webmail, UVLE, and other university online services. Additional terminals are made available for free Compuetrized Registration System (CRS) access during pre-enlistment and enrollment seasons.

Free Access

Open Source Applications

Different open source OS and productivity suites that are available at the Center can be copied for free. Students, faculty and staff who wish to have a copy shall provide the blank CDs.

UP Webmail

Email account cards to all enrolled students are available at the Center. Faculty and staff who do not have their own accounts can also apply. Claimants need to bring their UP ID , Form 5 (for students) or appointment papers (for faculty and staff). Email accounts are currently provided for free. Faculty and staff have 20 Mb space each while students are alloted 10 Mb each.

Encoding

The Data Processing Division in involved in encoding works for the Accouting Offices, as well as STFAP applications.
